This mixed-media, eco-friendly piece combines everyday elements of batik  with nature.  Thereby transforming organic objects into art.  This  makes the piece unique which is the beauty of genuine handmade items.  I use a collage of various sustainable materials such as recycled batiked cotton, handmade paper and felt.  As it is also inspired by Irish nature I use all kinds of leaves and wild native flora. These include red valerian, monbretia, honeysuckle and a host of dried forest floor twigs and leaves. Most importantly I use as many natural dyes as possible.  Natural dyes include tea, beetroot, turmeric and paprika.  As a result I have created a one of a kind eco-friendly piece of visual artwork inspired by Irish nature.
